question:
Will anonymous commentors be easily identified as such? Meaning, will I know straight away that the comment was not made by a member?

Reason I ask is that if someone were to leave a comment that I felt needed some sort of follow up, as in hunt down a spammer etc., would I know not to bother PMing the culprit.

I'm afraid I just can't remember the names of 200+ members - hehe.

Yes. Posting anonymously can only be done when the commenter not logged in. In this case the comment is shown as

[Name given by commenter] writes:

Can anonymous comments be deleted by the blog owner? Otherwise, blogs with anon enabled will soon be bristling with spam...

Long-time storage of people's IPs is a bit of an iffy business. Displaying it is even worse. Perhaps censoring the most significant 8bits would be good enough...

You mean a moderation queue of sorts?

Using captchas would not be very popular. They are horrible both in accessibility and usability.

I suspect that people who read my blog and aren't Opera Community members (and don't care to be) would rather have the ability to comment, and have to use a captcha, rather than have to sign up for the Opera Community to comment.

I'm half tempted to turn off anonymous comments, simply because of the spambots that are coming in... a captcha would keep me from doing that.

Also, the captcha could be optional, much like the one on Blogger.

Regrettably, I forgot to check whether any of those were posted after we added the captchas. Captchas should work though. Works at my end at least. Please notify me ASAP if they don't (seem to) work for you guys.

*smacks head against asphalt*

Forgot to transfer a file. Now it works, anyway. The error message upon wrong entry is as per usual our usual crappy, non-descript messages. Better error messages is on the todo list.
