Anonymous commenting on blogs, albums now enabled
We have activated anonymous commenting on blogs and photo albums.By default, it is turned off. You can go to you blog/album settings page, and select "Yes" for "Allow anonymous comments?".

Will anonymous commentors be easily identified as such? Meaning, will I know straight away that the comment was not made by a member?
Reason I ask is that if someone were to leave a comment that I felt needed some sort of follow up, as in hunt down a spammer etc., would I know not to bother PMing the culprit.
I'm afraid I just can't remember the names of 200+ members - hehe.

Yes. Posting anonymously can only be done when the commenter not logged in. In this case the comment is shown as
[Name given by commenter] writes: blah blah blah blah Comment by anonymous user - Thursday, 10. November 2005, 17:11:55

Using captchas would not be very popular. They are horrible both in accessibility and usability.

I'm half tempted to turn off anonymous comments, simply because of the spambots that are coming in... a captcha would keep me from doing that.
Also, the captcha could be optional, much like the one on Blogger.
