Opera 12 alpha (1105) with webgl and Hardware acceleration
The last months Opera 12 snapshots have received two major updates of its JavaScript engine, Carakan, which make it more memory efficient and fully ECMAScript 5.1 compliant. Last week the new HTML 5 parser Ragnarök was added. Today Opera 12 alpha introduces another major technological milestone: full hardware acceleration with WebGL.
(...)
Currently hardware acceleration is in an alpha stage and only uses an OpenGL backend. We would like to get your feedback about how well it works for you. Opera 12 alpha works best with modern graphics cards and up to date drivers. In future snapshot we'll add support for DirectX and more graphics cards. Be aware that testing Opera 12 alpha can trigger bugs in your graphics card and in worst case blue screen your computer.

i even made an extension to remove any letter-spacing in page (https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensions/details/letter-spacing-fix/) but it's not the solution!
and then reported DSK-346172 , the problem with farsi language in css3 transform scale , you can see in this url on hover the text became unreadable http://www.h4ir.com/page.php?page=ads

I used GPU-Z to test,
GPU and Memory Controller Load are okay, but the Memory Used seems a bit too high around 360MB for me, going up to 480MB on certain listed experiments like Emberwind and MS IE Fish Tank, both of which didn't seem to work properly for me at least anyway.
Youtube seems to be getting weired on me after this build, [this is happening occasionally i might add]
I have progress-bar setup to popup at the bottom when page loads, on Youtube videos it pops up, stays there while displaying all stuff that it usually does.
Now, whats happening is while in this state i can't make text selection on that Youtube page, i need to "press the X" on the address bar or use mouse gesture to stop loading page, then i can make text selection.
Also why does Youtube's "Show video info" when right clicking a video show "software video rendering" still.
Lastly why isn't this site working, http://inventfootball.com/ ? (didn't work in the last build as well.)

That's definitely a problem with HW/acc (it's obviously some triangulation issue).
I'd suggest you update your graphics card's drivers.
(If nothing else stated the most current weekly) on a nice Dell Studio XPS 16!

I noticed this as well with small font sizes.
The small white text on the Sky news website is a good example of this blurring / doubling effect.
Have gone back to good old software rendering for now, will try hardware rendering again in a later build.

Ok, I disabled hardawe acceleration and now I haven't the blur effect. Thanks! But I'd prefer to have enabled the Hardware acceleracion and have not the blur effect!
Then open "Manage 3D settings" in the NVidia Control Panel, make a profile for Opera.exe and disable all filtering/AA related settings in there. Maybe that would work.
Personally, the WebGL support is enough for me, no need for fancy UI rendering...
I fooled around with the Mouse Properties option in WinXP's control panel and finally found a solution: uncheck "disable mouse acceleration in games".
Now why my computer thinks Opera 12a is a game? I have no idea!
Hardware acceleration is disabled; my video card is ancient.
In the mail panel, it won't let me unselect (deslect?) email accounts to show.
Everytime I restart Opera it looses all my labels.

No problems here. Have you tried with a clean install?

Spiegel use css "overflow: hidden;" maybe this is why CPU usage is high.

Any idea? Shouldn't this be automatically controlled/fixed by now since the Opera installer supports USB/portable installations? Besides, it's getting annoying have to edit operaprefs.ini and change paths to {SmallPreferences} or {Resources} manually after a clean setup.
