[M2] Two-line summary in message list (like Outlook)?

I prefer "list and messages on right" layout. As of O11.51, this layout is unwieldy at best for users with standard laptop resolutions (1280x800 here).

I understand that it is not currently possible to configure the list (center pane) to show two lines per message (like in this Outlook screenshot). I would therefore like to make a feature request for the same. Thanks!

Can I get a dev to comment on this?

nope, devs typically don't comment here. they read the wish-list though.

One more voice for two lines summary in the message list. I used Outlook very short time, it had another things caused me to stop use it, but the whole its appearance I liked very much, especially columns and two lines in the message list.

UPD: Earlier I had 4:3 display on my laptop, now it is wide (1366x768), so the hight is more precious. But what do I have? Altogether I can see only 11 messages in the list so when you want to find some message you have to scroll more, then it goes very high message title with more than 4 lines and no possibility to make it smaller and then I have about 16 lines for the message. And they are very wide, and narrow text I can read more quickly.

But anyway, I do appreciate your work even so far and thank you for it!

And yet another point for two lines message summary is that now that when the each message takes one line in the list it is more difficult to find the needed message, because somehow they are similar, and in two lines summary each message looks more separate an easier to recognize.
Thank you!

Would any devs please comment on whether this is a reasonable request, and if/when can we see it implemented? Rijk?

Its obviously a reasonable request, but the devs never say if or when a feature is likely to be implemented. Threads here which ask for features to implemented for specific versions are often closed. In my experience (I joined My Opera in Nov 2002), it is rare for features requested here to actually make it into Opera.

Many obvious requests, e..g autohide of toolbars, one-click backup, or mail encryption, have many threads going back several years, but haven't made it yet. Other features, like HTML email, inline spell-checking, did eventually get included after several years.

So don't hold your breath.

That is most unfortunate. worried I guess my search for a good Outlook replacement continues.

Thank you for your reply, Pesala.
