Album upload does not work properly
I know this same topic has been mentioned on other posts as well. Moreover, there are older posts reporting the previous cases when the album upload was not working. I decided to start new topic with descriptive title, since this is a new case, which started something like two days ago.Album upload has started to work very slowly even on fast network connection. If trying to upload multiple pictures, it seem to fail, upload only two to three of the pictures, or pictures become uploaded after all but it takes very long time. Anyway, the server seem to give false feedback on upload progress, showing only few of the pictures as uploaded at first.
On Opera Mini browser using slow 2G connection the album upload does not work at all. One has to use email upload instead.
When using Wifi on phone, the uploads may succeed but the user does not get any reliable feedback. Upload page just become reopened and on file field there's some local temp file address.
One has to go and open album to find out if the picture file has been uploaded or not.

Some peeps get the opposite: No feedback if upload succeeded. Therefore you may accidentally upload the same picture multiple times before you realize it's already uploaded.
And this happens on all browsers and even on very fast university network. So, it must be the MyOpera server side acting slowly and not giving correct feedback.
As this is a recurring problem I wonder when Opera is going to fix it?!
You tried to access the address http://upload.my.opera.com/EinSascha/files/addpic.pl, which is currently unavailable.
I'm very sorry to see My Opera deteriorate. Statistics were never fixed, even though there are lots of free statistic tools.

We tried uploading with Opera Mini (on Android) and it worked perfectly for us. What phone and Opera Mini version do you have?
Tell also how fast connection speed you are using (GPRS, EDGE aka 2g, 3G or Wifi).
EDIT: No problems here either, when using EDGE (236.8 kbit/s). I try later on GPRS.
The same thing with my SE J108i using GPRS. It could be the network connection.

One using Wifi and another on GPRS. So, very likely not a speed issue then

You should have someone from your team working the other side of the globe
Somewhere warm...

(Forum quick qoute not working
- another issue though)using GPRS without problem.

Click the upload form→choose file (i.e. File name: reflection.jpg)→click upload (loading very slow)→upload fail (the file name was replaced with: 1/reflection.jpg"→repeat the upload process and myopera reply is
" Bad Request, the file reflection.jpg does not seem to contain a valid image" →click back arrow and i will get a reply that says "Upload Successful " click the album and there is no photo uploaded.
This happens even in my photo blog. I can paste the link here.

When edited there is the file name but when i edited and try to copy and paste it is invisible

Here is the transcript of that blank space above [imright=http://files.myopera.com/RachelJuleiane/operamini/1331874381.jpg]
Almost forgot to run the test. I did it now:1) First attempt on EDGE connection and using Opera Mini for Android: Not able to connect.
2)
EDIT: Correction, picture was not uploaded after all
Uploader just claimed so.
Notice this: "You have not yet uploaded photos to this album." And yet there is navigation list on bottom of page that shows there are 163 pictures as there should be, and are.
So, upload does not succeed after all. Photo I tried to upload never become upload.
In my tablet which rely on wi-fi its out of the question.

So, best workaround is to cancel and start the whole process right from the beginning. I managed to upload one picture doing so.
Nevertheless, MyOpera picture uploads are very unreliable on Opera Mini, thus making it very unpleasant experience
EDIT: New test. Number of times I tried to upload picture on Opera Mini:
Then I just gave up
I tried uploading a 8 MB photo over a HSDPA connection, and indeed i get this error after about a minute.

What's the size of the images you're trying to upload?
390KB was the last one I tried to upload for nine times, and using EDGE. At this location speed test gives me 170Kbps.
EDIT: I tried once again with same 390KB image to make sure I'm still using the same mast. No success and got time out notice.

What has been done about the problem?
We've been testing this, and have only been able to reproduce with large images (~8MB) so far. Sending the same large images via email from my phone works fine, so perhaps you could try uploading via email again if you're able to?
Well, I have not tested with 3G yet, because I usually keep my phone on GPRS/EDGE to save the battery, and because Opera Mini usually is so fast

I suppose we must use that then
And yet I hope you find the reason for this.

I have tried it already and the reply was 'upload failed, server not responding'
You mean email upload? If so, then what options there are left?
I also had issues when trying to use 'classic uploader' on PC

Same here
3 mobile dongle and Ubuntu 10.4. on a PC.
Albums sort themselves out of sequence if you load a lot at once (which is the whole point of using Opera) and I can only load one picture at a time with email.
An associated problem appears to be the server not accepting posts of any sort. I will post that message here next time I get that.
Just for the record; this version (the latest stable one) is an excellent tool and I much prefer it to Firefox. So; many thanks for all the hard work.
It is worth every penny it costs and more.
Many thanks to all involved.

I have understood people have difficulties to upload pictures into their albums again when using Opera Mini browser. I will test this later on today and give more detailed report on what I find out.
The previous post to this is November and a new Opera browser edition came out some time in between. So this has just started happening again I presume. It's been going on for a few weeks. Something has changed in the code somewhere in that time I am sure.

For example, if you're attempting to upload a 3 MB image over a GPRS/EDGE connection you might want to try to lower the image size to 1 MB or VGA before uploading.
I tried uploading a 8 MB photo over a HSDPA connectio and indeed i get this error after about a minute.
I'm uploading weather charts and usually a hefty load but lately to keep them in sequence I do just two to four.
I also get a problem with the flash uploader blanking me off after selection.
It just returns to the Upload Images page but fails to give the link to do so, so I can start again. I have to F5 it.
As it happens these were a diconnection problem with the USB:

Maybe it is a hardware fault?
