Opera 12

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but here goes ...

Since yesterday evening whenever I attempt to open Opera 12.0.1105 all I get is a black screen with a lime green bar across the top. Tabs are vivid blue then disappear.

Prior to yesterday I had no problem at all with Opera 12. I have downloaded Opera 11 today and that is working fine as is everything else on my computer.

Does anybody know what's causing this problem?

Hello, they added Hardware Acceleration and OpenGL to build 1105 . apparently your video card or driver does not support it .you will need to disable it by adding this line to the [User Prefs] section section of your operaprefs.ini file for OperaNext.

Put "Enable Hardware Acceleration=0" without the quotes in the [User Prefs] section.

Note: be sure to close Opera before Editing this file. or you may corrupt the file.!!

After you have saved the file and closed it restart Opera 12 you should be fine . you could also try updating your graphics card drivers. see if you can get it running . enter opera:gpu in thea ddress field to see what you have and get better drivers .

the control settings are "0" disable "1" auto 2 force

hope this helps get you running 12 again

cheers!!

Thanks for the reply RomDos.

I've got an NVIDIA GeForce GT540M in my laptop and have just done a re-installed of the latest version from the NVIDIA website and can now open Opera 12 without any problems.

Thanks again for your advice, much appreciated.
