Fix Incomplete Instructions in Help and Tutorials

I realize this isn’t an improvement for the browser per se, but it is something that should be fixed.

The online help is full of errors such as the following. This is an example from the tutorial for customizing the voice:

The shortcut key for activating the voice button can be changed. You can switch keys if the default one does not suit you, . . .

But then it never, even in the section on customizing shortcut keys, tells you how to do this.

Second example, shortcut keys customizing:

Changing setups

If you wish to change the default mouse or keyboard setups:

1. Select the configuration you wish to change, and click "Edit".
2. Find the operation you wish to edit by typing in the "Quick find" field or clicking the list.
3.Click "Edit" and enter a sequence of keys or mouse movements to associate with the event.

The problem is the key for the toolbar voice is not listed. I even tried the search for "speak", "speech", "voice" and "talk". Also you are supposed to be able to change the command word to activate the voice which is "Opera" by default (see below). The instructions for this is nowhere to be found in the instructions indicated (third example):

You can also change the voice setup, including the prefix required for all browser commands, by default "Opera". Follow the instructions for changing mouse and keyboard setups.

Fourth example. Importing the address book from Thunderbird into contacts in Opera:

I searched for information on how to import my Thunderbird address book into the Opera contacts list. And found this in the knowledge base:

Importing contacts/address books from other programs

Opera can import contacts from Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Eudora, Netscape 6/7 and old versions of Opera.

In Opera on Windows or Unix, from the menu, select Settings > Import and export > Import mail

But this is not about just the contacts, this is to import the entire mail account. This is not helpful.

Unfortunately, unlike other help databases, there is no rating/feedback at the bottom to indicate how helpful the information is. So there is no way for the authors to know what needs to be fixed.

The shortcut is shown in Preferences, Advanced, Voice.

Thank you, Pesala. I had found it after I last posted. I also found out that, for all intents and purposes, the mail import wizards are broken and will not be fixed anytime soon. 8-\

I still can’t find how to change the voice button to one of my choosing. Customizing in other applications is much easier. You just have a list of keystrokes and their corresponding commands (if any). Then below the various commands organized by menu category. Usually somewhere is the key combo associated with the command (if any). You then have a method to create or modify a command-key association.
