What sort of ads? If they are the "welcome to Opera" type pages, then something may have gotten messed up and Opera thinks you are always starting the browser for the first time.
If they aren't Opera related, you may have some sort of malware/adware on your computer that is opening the pages. You'll want to use one of the myriad free malware removal tools available to scan your computer and remove the problem.

The malware itself can't get onto another computer via Opera link, but maybe a setting it changed could. Also, if your desktop and laptop are on the same computer, it's possible that the malware was transferred through the network.
