Opera freezing on Gigabyte support site

Hello,
there have been some posts about freezes, but as this one seems reproducible, I will open a new topic.

Steps to reproduce:

After choosing an entry Opera will lock up for a certain time. The time depends on which entry you choose. Seconds for the first entries, minutes for the last ones. For me it seems reproducible for stable and beta versions and on Windows and Linux.

No freeze or delay seems noticeable for the same action with other browsers (e.g. Firefox).

I wanted to do some further testing, so I downloaded this page and tried some modifications. A strange thing I found is that an additional alert() will shorten the freeze dramatically(!). Files for local testing (I don't want to put an exact copy of the Gigabyte site on my server...):
http://www.staff.hs-mittweida.de/~mfaust2/opera-debug.zip
"Gigabyte GTS.html" is basically a copy of the original site (paths for .js/.css modified), "Gigabyte GTS 2.html" is the one with the alert() in line 1204.

It would be nice if anyone could confirm this.
Should I file a bug report about this issue?

Markus

Filed as bug report DSK-350987, because I think this not only a problem with a specific site, but a more general one (a web page SHOULD NOT be able to completely lock up the browser, intentionally or not).
