Top 5 on my wish list
Hey, I just came to opera today, set-up my account for sync, imported favorites from chrome, really easy, tweaked the interface and stuff and I really like it.So this is my top 5 things I want opera to have, they are not in order of importance:
Search in new tab
Ability to put opera Menu Icon on the right far side of the bar where the address is
Ctr+1,2,3,4,etc to change between tabs
F6 to select the address on the address bar of the current tab
Add to favorites button somewhere
It maybe possible to do some of the things I said, I just don't know how so xD
new thing, when I click with the scroll wheel on the forward of back button I would like it to open those pages on new tabs
Share the top 5 things you want the most on opera too on the comments
F4 It's the default shortcut to focus address bar on explorer, but Opera uses F4 to toggle the panels visibility. Maybe F6 could be left for the panels toggle, and reassign F4 to the address bar focus (BTW F2 provides a similar option (similar-> different ._.)).
Ctrl # it's now used as a shortcut for Speed Dials. As the Speed Dial is one of the main features of Opera, modifying these shortcuts it's basically prohibited (If you don't want to mess every user).
Favorites button it's coming, It's already working on the Opera Next release, along with gpu rendering
.
About searching on a new tab. The actual setting keeps consistence on every link open, but let's face it, I've used the search on THIS tab no more than 10 times. I think that swapping the control modifier would be pretty useful.
offtopic: Also, maybe some automatic tab stacking should be implemented (again) on this feature, as all the content coming from this search tab it's going to be closely related. Keeping the [tabs,(0,1,2,3,4,5..),moreTabs] Order instead of [t,(0,5,4,3,2,1),T] is also a lot more intuitive when using open the new tab next to the actual tab option

"along with gpu rendering" ZOMG! Awesome, I'm so glad I switched :b
what about alt+1,2,3,etc to switch between tabs? that could work

Welcome to the Opera Forums. Please read the forum rules and guidelines before posting. Your threads may be closed unless you use a descriptive title
• General guidelines (Use a descriptive thread title)
Threads with multiple wishes are usually closed — they're impossible to follow, especially if everyone else adds their favourite wishes. One wish to a thread is best. Search first, and post to support an existing thread rather than creating yet another duplicate thread. Requests with many supporting posts are more likely to get the developers' attention.

- Shift click to search in a new tab or disable "Reuse current tab" in Preferences, Tabs
- The menu button can be put anywhere you want via customise appearance. Removing it if you change your mind requires manual editing of the toolbar.ini configuration file. The default button cannot be removed, but the pagebar head toolbar on which it sits can be hidden.
- Tabs can be moved around on the tab bar, so shortcuts to individual tabs are not practical. Use access keys. "Show window menu" in preferences, browsing, then Alt W, 1; Alt W, 2; etc.
- Shortcuts can be edited as you like in Preferences, Shortcuts, Keyboard setup
- Add to bookmarks button is already available in Opera Next (Opera 12). Install it in its own folder if you want to test it. Read the blog post warning first.
