Custom search engine doesn't work, when %s contains russian characters

I use Lingvo on-line dictionary. And want to translate from address bar in both directions.

Engines preferences:
English-Russian (E-R): http://lingvopro.abbyyonline.com/en/Search/en-ru/%s
Russian-English (R-E): http://lingvopro.abbyyonline.com/en/Search/ru-en/%s

Example
I want to translate word "query" (rus. "запрос")

E-R works fine: I type "er query" and it does what expected -- opens page http://lingvopro.abbyyonline.com/en/Search/en-ru/query

But for R-E: "re запрос" opens http://lingvopro.abbyyonline.com/en/Search/ru-en/%DA%C1%D0%D2%CF%D3
Which says there is no translation for "ЪБРТПУ" (and indeed, there is no such russian word).
But if I substitute %s for "запрос" manually, it works!

-----
I noticed, that google search works fine: "g запрос" opens "http://www.google.ru/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=%D0%B7%D0%B0%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%81&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest"
But if I remove "&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8", it doesn't work as well -- opens http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=%DA%C1%D0%D2%CF%D3&sourceid=opera

Notice, that q parameter becomes the same as for "re запрос"
-----

So, how do I fix this ?

Did you use "Create Search" from the form menu to create the search, or did you edit search.ini manually? If the latter, did you remember to set Encoding to an appropriate value?

@nafmo
I did it through preferences -> Search

I've re-done it with "Create Search" and it works. Thanks a lot !

B.t.w. how does Opera figure out those additional parameters in address string (to set language) ?
