In case you missed it ...
... we have an update to the 11.5x versions today, and also a new Labs build.Opera was "zero-dayed" yesterday, a hacker released an exploit for a bug, so of course we have a fix today. They say that the bug dates back to 10.11 at least, so unless you only browse known safe sites you should update.
The Labs build introduces "Opera Reader", some new CSS extensions to render a site as if it were pages in a book ... okay, to my mind that's more of a tablet feature than a desktop feature. On the desktop you already have a physical PageDown key or can click below the scrollbar slider - either one will move you down one screen length. On a tablet, trying to read a lot of text is somewhat more fidgety; unless you have an external keyboard there's no PgDn key, and dragging is either less or more than one screen length. With this new CSS extension, you can separate it into actual pages and when you swipe left or right you can turn the page. ... anyway, you can try it out on both (Android) tablet and desktop; who knows, maybe I'll change my mind.
The Labs build also introduces webcam support. Yes, you'll actually be able to have video chats (on sites that support it) without having to use Flash. Too bad my desktop doesn't have a webcam ...
Anyway ... in that sense, neither one is actually "Beta testing", though the Desktop Team is accepting comments on the Labs build.
