Frequent Lock Ups With Flash Video

So my work computer has been locking up frequently and I have narrowed the cause down to Flash Video and Opera, but I have tried and tried but cannot fix the problem. Flash itself works fine, and flash video playback is normally fine, however when the computer freezes (completely locked up requiring a hard reboot) it is always without fail during flash video playback in Opera.

I've upgraded my video card drivers, disabled hardware acceleration, updated Flash. Nothing works. Any time I open a video now, I just use the "Open With" command to send the page to Chrome where I have had no crashes whatsoever. My only problem is that I sometimes forget to do this and when I do, there is a possibility that my machine will completely freeze, causing me to loose work and have to reboot my machine. The machine is a graphics workstation and is otherwise rock solid in terms of stability.

Would love to find a solution to my problem.

System:
Windows XP Professional x64
Intel Core i7 940
ASUS P6T DELUXE Motherboard
12GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1GB

Thanks for your help.

Assuming you mean you disabled Adobe Flash Player's hardware acceleration, it looks like you've already tried all the best "first" steps but one:

You might try reverting to an earlier Flash Player version. I haven't stayed up with recent developments on this issue, but I'm still using v10.2.152.26 on WinXPsp3 with no problems, and have stayed with it because there were so many problems with newer versions 6-7 months ago. But presuming your problems started recently, you might try reverting to the last version you were using before the problems started.

You can check to verify your current version here, but it's easier to download previous versions from FileHippo (see links to past versions on right-hand side of page) than it is on the Adobe site. For best results, use Adobe's Flash Player Uninstaller to remove your current version before reverting to a previous version. (It may uninstall the ActiveX version used by IE as well, so you might have to reinstall that if you use IE.)

You didn't mention your Opera version (and I imagine you would have if you had recently updated it), so please include it if you post back because the above doesn't work.

If necessary, you could also try a fresh Opera installation to a new folder to see if that makes any difference (without changing anything with your current installation: you can have and simultaneously use more than one installation on a machine). If it does, we can troubleshoot the current installation further, or just migrate any needed settings, etc. to the new installation.
