Newbie : What is the best development environment for developing java script plugins?

Hi all.

I'm not sure here is right place for posting this article. In addition, I'm not native English speaker.

I'm newbie developer using the opera-linux-devices-sdk, and my main R&R is implementing custom jsplug-ins and OOIF.

My question is that am i have to develop on the specific device even tho i don't need to use hardware or platform dependent module for implementation.

In that case, I wanna develop and test plug-ins on my Linux Laptop first.
After that, finally, I'd like to fusing it on my hardware.

Actually, I've installed Public Opera browser 11.52 on my linux(Ubuntu) and installed my jsplugins to /usr/lib/opera/plugins. Jsplugins is included in the linux-devices-sdk, and I built them for my laptop.

However, Opera can't use it when html page loaded, and also Opera Browser Plugin Configuration can't find my jsplugins.

Is it impossible to use that way, or do I miss something?

Thanks for your reply.

Finally, I figured out.
Thanks to Opera Co. for TVEmulator.

I just do some minor stuffs( the lowest hacking way ) and i can develop and test my jsplugins on my laptop.
I don't need setop box anymore unless develop related with my hardware.
