Why no embedded SVG source with Opera ?

Hi all,

I've tried it multiple times, always though the error was mine, wondering what was wrong with my way of doing things, when I just had the confirmation Opera does not support it.

In Firefox, Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome, and Safari you can also embed the SVG code directly into the HTML code.

Note: This does not work in Opera.

Why ?
For publication tool chain (for the web and else) : Semantic online editor, Lasidoré (XML based) - prerelease - requires at least Opera 9.5 to work nice

Google is not a synonym of Search engine : boys and girls, have a look at Exalead and WolframAlpha

SVG code embedded directly within a web page works for me in Opera.
Example:

Don't trust w3schools to be accurate.

No W3Schools WAS right. This topic was started on October 20 2011 when Opera 11.52 was the latest version. Opera 11.52 does not support SVG in HTML - as it does not support HTML5 parsing algorithm altogether. Opera 11.60, which is currently the latest version has an HTML 5 parser and as part of it also supports SVG and MathML in HTML.
Windows 7 SP1 x86 edition and Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Actually domblogger's test should work in any version higher than Opera 8 or so because it uses XHTML5. His (?) testcase also explicitly states it was tested in 11.51. So you're both somewhat right and somewhat wrong, but in any case w3schools is wrong for 11.60 and up.
