Opera adds a "m." - and then "error"
It seems like Opera mini for some sites adds a "m." before the original web addressFor instance:
NewsPapers.com/news/sport/article1640625.ece
is modified to
m.np.com/news/sport/article1640625.ece
(this is a fictive example - the right danish address is ekstrabladet.dk/ferie/udland/article1640625.ece --> m.eb.dk/ferie/udland/article1640625.ece)
Then I have a error:
HTTP Status 404 -
type Status report
description The requested resource () is not available.
JBossWeb/2.0.1.GA
------
I cannot find out to stop Opera from automatically adding the ".m"
Any idea???
Can you get there using your native browser, on your phone? It may be that they're browser sniffing, and purposely excluding Mini, or Opera?
That wouldn't make sense... Sorry. I can't answer your question.

Opera Mobile 10(499), Mini 7.0, 4.4

No, the problem is web developers thinking they know better than their users and forcibly redirecting you to mobile sites.

Just to be clear, that is being done by the site, not by Opera Mini. It's would be funny that they're redirecting to a non-existent page if it wasn't so annoying for users. Feel free to complain to ekstrabladet.dk.

But how can it be that the default browser does not add the ".m"?

Perhaps your default browser does not identify itself as a "mobile" browser.
My BB can self identify either mobile (my default), Firefox, or IE. From a bookmark, I can tell it which to choose for that particular site. But all links on pages or in email go with whatever default I choose.

Well I just uninstalled Opera --> finish with the trouble
Nope, a human error is the trouble, as always. You see, the trouble doesn't exist on http://ekstrabladet.dk/ferie/udland/article1640625.ece if you 'check' the web layout on m.eb.dk site and fron time to time you must recheck that and mini transcoder will follow the last redirection (as m/web site).
