Compose problem

Hi All,

How do I Compose a message from a specific Account?
I have Accounts
MyFirstAcc
MySecondAcc
MyThirdAcc

If I right click on the Inbox for MyThirdAccount and select "Compose" it opens up with the "From" and "ReplyTo" for MyFirstAcc.

Same thing happens if I click the "Compose" buttons at the top of the panels. It always opens up a new email but for MyFirstAcc

No matter which Account I am in, it always opens up with the MyFirstAcc addresses. I even tried clicking on the "Inbox" (and "Sent) for MyThirdAcc and then right-click and select "Compose," I still get MyFirstAcc details.

When I check the Properties for the different Accounts they all have their own correct "From" and ReplyTo" email addresses.

Is it me or Opera Mail?

Thanks

Opera will always use the last used from address. If you want to use another one, just choose it on the dropdown list on the from field.

When you compose a new message, if the account you want is not selected, just change it in the "From" drop-down.

When you click reply, it'll use the from address for the account the message belongs to.

If you ciick the "compose" button on the mail panel toolbar or right-cilck in the mail panel and choose "compose", it'll default to the last used one.

If you hit ctrl + m to compose, it depends on what view you have selected in the mail panel. For example, if you have "Inbox" for one of your accounts selected, ctrl + m should default to that account. Same thing goes for the compose button on the mail toolbar above a view's message list.

However, if you right-click in the mail panel and set "show messages from" to a specific account, the compose button on the mail panel toolbar and right-click -> compose will default to the currently-selected account.

Note that if you goto "shift + F12 -> buttons -> mail", you can add the account selector drop-down to the mail panel toolbar. Then, you always set it to the account you're working with at the time. This will cause the "All Messages" views etc. to only show messages for that account. Then, you can click the view button on the mail panel toolbar and hide all the access points for your POP accounts as you won't need them anymore.

Great, thanks, that's the approach I like.

I am transitioning from Thunderbird so I have to get used to different ways of doing stuff. I normally hunt around a lot before asking here, but for the life of me I could not figure out what was going on.

@LeoCG
Thanks, I have added the drop down as BurnOut suggested. I like that a little better as it saves one step and also the covers the risk of sending a new email to someone from the wrong Account. One of the reasons I am changing over from TB.
