Basic Features missing from Opera
Opera used to be my Religion a few years ago. Then things happened, chrome came out, and I started using Chrome as my main browser. However Opera is technically superior in terms of usability features, capabilities and speed.
So I've gotten into opera again after a few years away, and I've noticed some very basic features missing.
* Right click Back/Forward button should show a list of pages you can go to.
* Right click a mailto: link should give you the option to copy that email address.
* Dragging the 'web' icon at the left of the address bar into a folder should create a .URL shortcut file
* When opening a new tab there should be a shortcut to open recently closed tabs (like chrome has), rather than going through several menus.
I also noticed the lack of ability to save certain images from webpages etc, but I don't have an example.
Its good to have a web browser that pleases hackers/developers, because they're the most technically skilled users around, and all the noobs look to them for advice on which browser to use.

Isn't this covered with the Rubbish bin Icon?
Excellent, thats actually much better than Chrome. There were many times in chrome when I wanted to open a recently closed tab without having to go to the 'chrome start' page. And also, its the reason I didn't set a start page for chrome, so that I could use those 'Recently Closed' shortcuts. Opera is awesome.

Okay good. However:
Delays are annoying for regular users, suggestions:
* Shift click brings up menu immediately.
* Bring up menu immediately, if they release on the button in < 1sec consider it a click, if they hold longer then let them choose an item. So if you want to use the menu, for example you click back and drag down onto one of the previous pages and release on that page.
>Drag favicon to desktop.
Okay, however too limited. Issues:
* It seems you need to have a bookmark before you can create a .url file? There are instances when you want to make a URL file for yourself or another user and place it among related files on the hard drive.
* Only works dragging to desktop, not a file manager like Total Commander or Windows Explorer.
Suggestion: Also add 'Internet shortcut' into the Page>Save As menu. Even if you wanna keep people locked into opera and create an opera extension, I wouldn't mind. Like .ois or .obm or something.

When I right-click on a mailto link, I get 4 options: "Compose", "Add to contacts", "Copy Email Address" and "Copy Link Address".
"Copy Email Address" does just that.

Me and some other people would like Shift to open the previous page in a new tab so -1 for it. For bringing it in less than 1 second, I'd like... or click and hold down and have the list instantly!, but (if my extended wish of (Ctrl +) Shift goodness come true) I'd still want to be able of (Ctrl +) Shift + clicking on one of the entries to open it in a new tab.Originally posted by tamil:

Just a tip: you can get one button which has a down arrow which brings the list from right-click -> Customize... -> Appearance -> Buttons tab -> Browsing.

This is how it works right now.
Click and hold left mouse button on back button and drag down - menu appears. Then release mouse button on menu item you want.

It also works with the web icon at the left of the url, but still only on the desktop.

You forgot the important part of what he said which is that the menu should come up instantly instead of having to wait for a second and if the user release the button over the arrow, it should do a normal previous which I think would be a great idea, not that I use that feature more than once every few months.
But like rafaelluik said, you can customize the address bar to use the old buttons with the arrows beside them which bring up that menu instantly.

I just keep getting more depressed every time I update opera. Very old bugs not fixed, easy fix not made(talking about no option to disable image resize here), new "features" even more annoying than the last ones implemented and often poor compatibility with a lot of website.

The trash can icon is just that. Can't tell you exactly where it is because I removed it since I don't use it, but it's somewhere on the top right(and you can always add it if you don't have it).

It should be in the Speed Dial.

No, it's already on the title bar which makes it available everywhere without having to open a new tab.It should be in the Speed Dial.

There's always ctrl+z for that, one of the very rare remaining feature that keeps me from changing browser. But sometimes I close a tab by mistake. Silly me.

I don't see why, you can already access it from anywhere as it is and you can move it inside any toolbar at the position you want(more or less since the configuration is not as good as is was a couple of years ago), but having the ability to add any button to the speedial could be nice.It should be in the Speed Dial.

I don't see any purpose in putting "most viewed" web pages anywhere automatically, when you can put them there by hand. Automatically selected "most viewed pages" usually changes very often, so their order in list changes which is very confusing (when your favourite pages change place on you screen).

Good to know, one less reason to use opera. I just need a speedial and no page to ever open a new window unless I tell it to and I can change browser, unless of course opera start to listen to us more and bring back the ability to configure their features instead of going the other way but I'm not holding my breath.
But I still prefer ctrl+z because it's more intuitive since most software use it for undo.
