Download dialogue problem .msi files saved as .exe files
Version 11.51Build 1087
Platform Win32
System Windows 7
XHTML+Voice Plug-in not loaded
Browser identification Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.1; U; Edition United States Local; en) Presto/2.9.168 Version/11.51
Whenever I click on any link to download a .msi installer (any site, any application), Opera saves the file automatically as a .exe.
Hovering the mouse over the download link, the status bar correctly shows the path to the .msi
But when the Run/Save dialogue starts, the filename is shown with the .msi suffix replaced with .exe
It is possible to save as a .msi in the save dialogue that then follows, but this has to be entered manually.
I have also tested this with Opera Next where it works fine - the .msi is downloaded correctly as a .msi
Checking the obvious places I noted that .msi is missing from the MIME-types in Preferences/Advanced/Downloads in opera 11.51 but is present in Opera Next

The latest version is 11.52, but that's irrelevant.
Uncheck, "Hide file types opened with Opera." I have these two types:
application/x-msdownload, exe,dll,bat,pif,com,scr,msi
application/x-msdos-program, exe,dll,bat,pif,com,scr,msi

I checked both 11.51, 11.52 and the .msi is listed.
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.
It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle: when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.

I did uncheck the "Hide" before posting this - .msi is not listed
Then add them back again.
