Spoofed UserAgent IDs 4 & 5 Not Saved Creates Problems
Hello,Opera 11.52
Linux kernel 3.0.4
about:config > User Agent > Spoof UserAgent ID
5 is especially annoying for a user not being able to save.
Without it, "Verizon Mail" complains about
"You are using an unsupported browser that verizon.com does not support ..."
and you suffer a few other indignities in the process.
BTW, Verizon is a company of some size in these here US of A.
(for easy reference go to wikipedia: "Verizon Communications")
Another BTW: what is "Mark as" and where can it be found
(hopefully changeable, if it exists)?.
Would this or other "trick" retain the desired 5?
PS - Ironically, 7 (fictitious, no doubt) is saved. Not 6, though.
So the "filter" is inconsistent.
Thanks,
-- Alex
sgunhouse:
Thank you very much.
In this case (Verizon Mail) I had to change Site Preferences (to "5" - equivalent)
at three points ("sites") during the login, but it works and it's stable.
BTW, the (context) help relevant to the issue on the User Agent/Site Preferences (Network)
and/or the User Agent config logic (Save) stinks.
Best wishes,

The documentation is poor ...
They don't want people using opera:config to "Mask as ..." which is why they removed the option. In most cases they would want websites to know that some of their visitors are using Opera, so that web designers don't just ignore it completely ... that's why they removed those options except as "site preferences". Unfortunately some designers just don't seem to care.
