You could close Opera and move your existing opera6.ini file out of your profile and restart Opera and it will create a new default opera6.ini file.
But probably better to close Opera , rename your whole profile folder, and restart Opera and let it create a whole new default profile folder. Then you could try migrating any important settings, bookmarks, passwords (wand.dat), etc. from your renamed profile folder to the new folder a step at a time to see if it continues to work smoothly. If you move something back to the new profile that causes the problem again, that will provide clues on additional steps to take.
