12.00 Alpha Build 1116 - Link information not showing on Status Bar (WIndows XP)
Installed latest Opera 12 on my computer, but I've noticed that the Status Bar on the bottom does not display the link information when hovering over a link on a website with the mouse. I see the Panel, Opera Link, Opera Unite, and turbo buttons, but no link information is displayed.Windows XP SP3
Pentium D - 3 GHZ
2 GB DDR2-667MHZ
Nvidia 9500GT 1GB DDR2 (Open GL 2.1)
Check if Display Link Title is enabled. Also, try to add a new "Status field" to your status bar.
Personally, i think the status field should NOT depend on the above option and should always display the hovered URL/title.
I use the MultiPopup UserJS as a replacement for the native Opera tooltips, and have them disabled. But this exposes an issue with Dragonfly - it inherits the tooltips setting and at the same time doesn't execute MultiPopup, thus leaving me with no way to see any Dragonfly tooltips. Probably other "internal" Opera pages have the same issue too...
So, i consider this behavior a bug.
Another bug is that the "Status field" area is not marked while customizing the toolbars - other toolbar items (spacers, etc.) have text labels, but not this one.

Thanks for the reply. I checked the above, and it is enabled. Kind of depressing at this point...don't have the problem on Opera 11.52. If this is a bug hopefully the Opera team will have it fixed before the final comes out.
Reset the left side of the status bar to its defaults?
The status bar is composed of 3 parts - the bar itself, the left side (the "head") and the right side (the "tail"). The status bar head should normally have the Panels button, Sync, Unite, Turbo, a small bar, and the actual status field (used to display the address of links). Right-click on one of those (say, the Turbo button) and select Customize > Reset toolbar to its defaults.

I just realized what the problem was. I installed a skin...it looked like it was working completely, but it does not show the link information on the status bar at the bottom. Thanks for the help. Case Closed!!!

More than likely the skin you are using is not 11.60 compliant. Try using a default skin, and see if that works.
