HTML Code Vanished
Hello all.I noticed that in some areas of "My Opera" has recently passed away the possibility to insert HTML and BBcodes (ex. zone "About" of the profile). I wanted to ask if there is a chance to make them usable again.
Sorry for my English, but I'm Italian.
Thanks for your attention,
Protenix.
PS: I looked for this topic before posting, but I have not found anything similar in.
Is it at all possible they (you know ... 'they') could have a whitelist of trusted bloggers who're allowed to edit their own profile pages, or something? It'd have to be a massive turn off for people considering joining MyO to realize they can't tart up their profile.

We decided to not allow markup in the about field, just like fullname, work etc...
Moreover, there also came some restrictions for using HTML on forums and on forum signature. On forums and forum signature you can still use BBCode.

I've been here almost five years and built up a very respectable off-community readership who have come to expect a certain class of excellence from me. During that time I've sat through some horrendous bugs, including one that relegated mobile users to posting in shoutboxes and blog titles only (all other fields were invisible to mobile users), but the knowledge that these were being worked on was always something that kept me around. I'd hate for this to be the reason I end up leaving this place; because the mods had over reacted and removed all functionality from a field rather than just the ones that could be exploited by spammers.
I'd appreciate if someone from Opera could comment here and let us know if some basic functionality is going to return to these fields at some point. In fact, I'm off to hunt down some Operinos and link them here for an opinion on this.

How soon is soon-ish? My about page looks like a bunch of random glob of codes. I resyled my about page to optimize it for text only.

*shakes his 8-ball*
"Tomorrow is yesterday's day after the day after tomorrow's tomorrow's yesterday after today." ... Yeah, doesn't make sense to me either. ;-7
Let's keep it at soon. Later than today, earlier than next week.

Any special plans for MyOpera groups? The reasons why groups like 365 and S&T started to put rules on about description area, and then moved them to sticky blog post are the followings:
1) Formatting needed to make the rules easier to read (important sentences in bold etc.).
2) Links needed to provide additional instructions and to keep the actual rules part short.
3) To make sure rules becomes read first before possible other text provided after rules. And same said the other way round... It was found nice to say something else after list of rules.

As it seems now, we're restoring the functionality we had before... more or less. A selection of “normal” tags will be allowed, while others (such as <marquee>) will not.

I'll take the good old about page back into use
At Shoot & Tell we decided to keep rules on a sticky blog post because then there's one item less on menu. We hope that's acceptable for MyOpera admins.

Any chance to see b, i, u, a, img and more of these safe HTML tags working on the forums?
I don't use these as there's BBCode already, but an amount of users use(d) it and it makes a lot of (most) old posts broken. :/
What about allowing basic formatting on anonymous comments? They can't even break lines, these poor little visitors.
