Single key keyboard shortcuts do not work with Google search

Recently, Google Instant started to work with Opera. This caused that single key shortcuts (like "." for searching and z x for back and forward) stopped working (everything typed in goes to the search form). Do you have any idea how to turn this off? I would like to retain google instant though, I quite like it. I would just like to be able to find in page without using ctrl-f.
