how to select more than one contact at a time?
Hi all, I'm using opera email client and would like to be able to select more than one contact at a time similar to gmail contacts list where you just click on as many contacts whilst the contact list is open then click ok! Is this possible in opera email client. I do not mean creating folders because of the many variations of folders.regards

In multi-select lists in just about any app, you:
* Left-click on an entry to clear the selection and make that entry the sole entry in the selection.
* Ctrl + left-click to select/deselect an entry in the selection without clearing the selection.
* Shift + left-click to extend the selection to the entry you click on.
This is basically how the list in the contacts panel works too.
Then, you can right-click on the selection and choose "compose" to compose to all of the selected contacts.
However, since clicking an entry in the contacts panel opens the message list for that view in a new tab, when you select entries, they might open some tabs too. To prevent that, goto "shift + F12 -> buttons -> panels" and drag the ">>" buton right before the "x" on the contacts panel. Then, when you click the ">>", it'll expand the contacts list into a new tab where clicking on entries and selecting the etc. doesn't open any tabs.
Now, as for doing this via the drop-down next to the To, Cc and Bcc fields in the compose tab, you can only select one at a time.

Thanks for your reply burnout426. The method suggested obviously works but for me seems to be a lot of effort for a simple thing. I've used Opera email client for years and always considered this aspect the weakest part. As I mentioned earlier, In Gmail the drop down box next TO: BC etc; allows you to select more or many contacts just by clicking on the name. This suits me better, just wish Opera had the same facility.
Oh! Well, perhaps I should put it on a wish list.
Once again many thanks for your input.
