11.52 b1100 win32 update: mail search is broken.
When will it be fixed?Symptoms on a Win7-64, a WinXP-32, and an Ubuntu netbook:
Mail search will not find anything. It shows an empty message pane. Sometimes the search bar will pop up and disappear in a second. If the search bar remains up long enough to click "Save Search", the search is not titled with the search string, it is titled "New Label". It has no rules, and adding rules has no effect.
Existing labels (pre-update) continue to work.

Try rebuilding the search index first to see if that helps.
You might also try closing down Opera and delete autosave.win in the sessions folder. It's in the preferences folder.
You might also try going to "Ctrl + F12 -> advanced -> toolbars" and choosing "Opera Standard" to see if it helps. If it does, you can recustomize your toolbars.
Under "shift + F12 -> skins", make sure 'Opera Standard" is set.
You could also close down Opera and rename operaprefs.ini in the preferences folder so Opera creates a new one to see if it helps. If it doesn't, you can restore the original.
You can also download the Opera 11.52 installer and install it over the top of your current Opera (upgrade to the same version) to repair any program file corruption if any.
If none of that helps, make sure your anti-virus is not interfering with Opera (email scanner and web shield etc.).
If that doesn't help, use the "standalone installation" option in the installer to install to a folder on your desktop. Then, setup mail in it (do not import anything) and see if it works right there. If it does, replace its mail folder with a *copy* of your original mail folder to see if you can cause that Opera to mess up. If you can, there's probably something messed up in the mail folder and you'll have to do this.
Those are the things I'd try. Hope that helps.

burnout426, thanks. I'll try those things. It will take a while.

This is so strange. The problem appeared on three different systems, Ubuntu, WinXP, and Win7, so I suspected a problem in the 11.51 to 11.52 update. These three are sync'ed to the same Opera Link account. Today only the WinXP Opera is misbehaving. I did essentially nothing but wait a while. Go figure.
Nevertheless, thanks for the help.
