How to Rebuild the Search Index
If searching for messages isn't returning the results it should, there's a chance that the search index is messed up.Fixing the search index is easy. Just close down Opera and delete the "lexicon" folder in the mail folder. Then, when you start Opera back up, it'll rebuild the search index from scratch and searching should work better.
Note that for IMAP accounts, "make messages available offline when I click them" is set by default. This means that the body for a message isn't fetched and indexed until you open the message. So, basically, searching is limited to only headers for messages that haven't been opened yet. To fix this, you can set "make all messages available offline" and all messages will be *automatically* fully-downloaded and indexed so searching can work the best it can right from the start.

Any Opera 12.16 specific solution this is not working in 12.16.
The mail client that's built into Opera 12 and the standalone Opera Mail are the same mail client. Deleting the lexicon folder should work for both as long as other parts or your mail folder arent' messed up.

Another Q How we can get search to direct label feature in opera 12.16 ?
You'd need to ask that in the mail forum.
You just close down Opera and delete the "lexicon" folder in the mail folder. If that doesn't work, you'll have to do <http://my.opera.com/operawiki/forums/topic.dml?id=1162442>.
