Opera 11.52 extremely slow

Hi everybody,
I am experiencing a big problem since my Opera update a few days ago: Opera became extremely slow!
I compared the loading time of an online shop page between Opera and Internet Explorer. In Opera it took 30 seconds to load, the Internet Explorer only needed 3 seconds! So something must have gone very wrong in the new Opera version. Unfortunately, going back to Opera 11.50 didn't solve my problem either. It simply stayed slow, and I have no idea what to do. I tried uninstalling, clean re-installing, default settings, my old seetings - this speed is simply unacceptable! I've been using Opera for many years now, but if this issue can't be fixed soon, I am forced to switch to another bowser.
I read in other forums about IPv6 issues or issues with the fraud and malware protection enabled, but changing either setting didn't speed up my Opera at all. What else can I do?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Patrick

Try installing Opera 11.52 in another directory instead of the default ubication, and see if it runs as it should.
If the problem gets solved then I would uninstall Opera and do a complete cleanup of all personal Opera settings.
And then reinstall it again.

Windows XP sp3
Opera 12.15

Thanks for your reply! In fact, after making a backup, I uninstalled Opera already with the optional deletion of all personal settings. After a reboot of Windows 7, I installed Opera 11.52 again. I noticed that it actually isn't that slow when only one single tab is open. However, as soon as several tabs are open, it is slower than any snail on earth! This wasn't the case in earlier versions before I made the last update (on the same computer with same system). I have no idea what's wrong with it, but it's ten times slower than IE on my system when a couple of tabs are open. Very annoying!

Same issue here since I've updated to 11.52 my Opera got significantly slower. I've done a complete reinstall and it did NOT help.

Well, I don't use any extensions. All I did after a clean installation was to import my bookmarks from a backup file, adjust the icons on the toolbar, deactivate the password manager, deactivate sounds, use Google as standard and speeddial search engine and use my old speeddial.ini from a backup file to get my old selection on the empty tab page. That's all! All other settings were left untouched from the default. So my personal settings are in fact very minor.
However, Opera uses at least 50% of my CPU. As I wrote before, a simple online shop page which took on IE about 3 seconds to load kept Opera busy for about 30 seconds. Browsing just isn't fun any more with such enormous loading times!

Not sure if this applies to everyone, but if you have an ASUS motherboard, kill the ATK switching process that hogs CPU processing and you'll see that scrolling with multiple tabs is superfast again.

I'm on a Dell Laptop, so I can't do that. Thanks anyway! Perhaps, someone else can use your information to solve his problem.

I'm in a panic. Opera is my goto browser, and after deleting my private data because of performance issues, Opera is now horribly slow. Uninstalling, reinstalling, older versions, and rebooting won''t solve it.

I don't get it.

Version of Opera?

One presumes you deleted you private data for a reason of some kind ... that would be?
