Feature suggestion for bookmarking: expandable collapsible folders on the "Add Bookmark" dialog
Having several thousand bookmarks inserting each new bookmark is an exercise of endless scrolling.[Bookmarks] -> [Bookmark page ...] -> [Add Bookmark]
Instead have the [Add Bookmark] dialog work like in the [Manage Bookmarks ...] window. Expandable and collapsible folders with their status remembered (collapsed, expanded) between each call (each use, each iteration, each cycle ... whatever).
And/or two buttons accessible on the "Add Bookmark" dialog , one to collapse everything, the other to expand everything.

Use the bookmarks panel. Its much more efficient for adding a lot of bookmarks — drag and drop to the desired location.
Or, if adding lots of bookmarks, just add new bookmarks to the root folder and organise them later.

Sorry for being a little unclear. I don't add lots of bookmarks at one go. I only ever add one bookmark at a time (99.9% of the time). But I have thousands of bookmarks and those are the ones I must scroll through each time I add a new bookmark.
I don't use panels at all so far. I don't like sacrificing screen space for something I very rarely use. I would need to open and close bookmark-panel each time I add a bookmark and then I could just as well scroll.
Otherwise thanks for the panels suggestion. I hadn't thought of that.
Adding to the root: I thought of that and sometimes used that method. But why would I have to ? Besides I use the root for temporary bookmarks that I would need to scroll through too.

This is an issue I have been complaining about to Opera for years. Seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Version 11.60 is more of the same. I, too, have hundreds of bookmarks, and I dip in and out of bookmarks all the time. But apparently bookmarks are not of much interest to Opera as they have the worst implementation of any browser company. As a result, much as I'd like to switch to Opera full time, I simply can't. I guess I'll delete it once again as it's basically useless for me.

Bookmarking in opera still need a lot of help. I have the exact same problem with having tons of bookmarks. A compromising approach is to use the bookmark toolbar and line it up with your bookmark folders. Then you can drag & drop to the proper folder. "Compromising" because the folders don't expand to be able to drop into sub-folders, and you can't edit the details of the bookmark with Drag & Drop. This does take up some screen real estate, but less than the panel.

If opera would incorporate keywords/tags, you could actually keep all your bookmarks in a single folder and search accordingly.
Another gripe is the inability to have the bookmarking dialog, (Ctl+D) open fully expanded. Hacks used to exist to override this behavior, but now it breaks opera.
Edit:
The hacks listed above only breaks opera if you use the dialog.ini file provided there. If you edit your current dialog.ini and make the changes manually, it will work for the bookmarks dialog with the details tag expanded. It will not work for the Clear private data dialog though any longer.
I can not speak to the Opera login link dialog & Search engine dialog, as I have not tried those, but they should still work according to the comments listed there.
