GMail: Possible to "sync" M2 labels with GMail labels?
I'm trying to find a way to apply GMail-labels quickly from within M2. M2-labels can be added by pressing the L-key, but I haven't found a shortcut for moving mail (to IMAP folders / GMail-labels)……so I thought perhaps I could make a rule so that messages labelled with the M2-label "Starred" are moved to the "Starred" IMAP folder (and thus are correctly labelled in GMail as well). Is it possible?
By thw way I'm starting to appreciate the GMail IMAP integration in Opera 10.50/51. Being able to subscribe to all folders without having duplicates is really great!
So, if you want to add the "Inbox" label, you'd ctrl + drag it from the IMAP folder view it's in to the "Inbox" IMAP folder view. If you want to apply the "zipzambam" label to it, you ctrl + drag it from the IMAP folder view it's in to the "zipzambam" IMAP label folder view. If you want to apply the starred label, you can ctrl + drag it from the folder it's in to "[Gmail]/Starred". If you want to remove the "Inbox" label and apply the "zipzambam" label at the same time, drag it (not ctrl + drag) from the "Inbox" IMAP folder view to the "zipzambam" IMAP label folder view.
For keyboard shortcuts, you can use ctrl + x (cut), ctrl + c (copy), ctrl + v (paste) in the message lists of for the corresponding IMAP folder views.
2 catches though. In views like Opera's "All Messages/Received", dragging (not ctrl + dragging) a message from there to an IMAP folder view under the you@gmail.com IMAP folder access point, will force a *copy*. So, if you need to move instead of copy, do it completely under the you@gmail.com IMAP folder access point (which you can move up to the top of the mail panel if you like).
There's no right-click -> move or right-click -> copy. But, cut, copy and paste are available in the right-click menu.
In short, it works like cutting and copying and pasting in Windows Explorer (including being able to paste the same thing multiple times).
Now, Opera doesn't support starring a message because it doesn't have support for the IMAP \Flagged flag yet. However, you can create a label in Opera under the "Labels" access point named starred. Then, you can right-click on it and goto its properties. On the IMAP tab, set the IMAP keyword to "\Flagged" (minus quotes). Then, you can just apply that label to a message to star a message. Just note that the label won't show starred messages as it's just a hack.
See <http://operawiki.info/GmailIMAP> if you haven't yet.
SInce M2-labels can added with keyboard shortcuts, I thought perhaps a connection could be made between M2-labels and GMail-labels to enable GMail-labels to be added using keyboard shortcuts as well

Well, here's the keyboard-only way (with the mail panel opening instructions too just in case):
* Press F4 to open the panel list.
(If some other panel is open besides the mail panel, hit shift + F4 to close it. Then, hit F7. Then, use the up and down arrow keys to select the mail panel and it will open. Then, tab into it.)
* Press F7 to focus the mail panel.
* Tab or shift + tab (and up and down arrow keys) to move up or down the mail panel till you get to the IMAP folder under the you@example.com access point where the message is at. Then, press enter to open that view's message list.
* Select the messages you want and press ctrl + c.
* Press F7 to focus the mail panel again.
* Move to a IMAP label folder and press enter to open its list.
* Press ctrl + v.
The Gmail label should now be added to those messages.
Cut and paste to "[Gmail]/All Mail" if you want to remove a label.
As you can see, unless you get really used to that and can do that fast, dragging isn't all that bad.

Doesn't seem to be a way to do it. I even tried this with an IMAP folder id just to see if it'd work, but it doesn't.
Opera just relies heavily on the user dragging everything.
