Go to newest message in folder rather than last viewed

I'm using OM for more feeds now, and it has become very desirable to go to the latest articles rather than to the last viewed in each folder, because the up-scrolling has become wearisome. It there any way to change this behavior?

Thanks,
p.

Home/End keys = top/bottom.

No, but there is a workaround.

Ctrl + left-click the last selected message in the list so that no messages are selected and then close the view. The next time you open it, it just jump to the top or bottom (depending on your sorting). Another way to deselect all messages in the list is to left-click the very right of Opera (to the right of the message list past the scrollbar area) when Opera is maximized.

That Home key trick is interesting. Will remember it, but I'm usually in mouse mode (inc a free left hand) when I'm reading feeds.

The Ctrl-L click is good. The other, while interesting, probably won't do much here.

Thanks again,
p.

Another thing I just discovered was the Show Read button, which when toggled off hides a lot of the detritus. But there doesn't seem to be a command to hook to for that?

When you create a new shortcut and type in a command, there are some "set mail view" commands that show up in auto-complete. The "set mail view type" might be it, but not sure and I don't know what arguments to pass to it.

Thanks. I'm not finding it either. I think I will leave the View set to Hide Read articles, and then simply mark everything Read when I leave a folder (that would be a nice automatic setting..). Thankfully this runs independently of the Mail display setting.
