update into oblivion

I am about sick of everything updating its self into oblivion.
I wish there was a way to stop these updates from happening.
I had my friend log into her netflix account in opera and have opera remember the password so I could add things to instant que.
Opera updated like everything else in the world does and now I can't seem to get to her netflix.
I just wanted to say thanks. Now I will have to ask her to have firefox save her password so I can at least see it if I need to and then when firefox updates I can just retype her password in and not be locked out ... as soon as she gets back in town, since I am watching her house for her.
For the time being, I will run the installer I used in the first place and copy my application data back over "since I predicted something like this so I backed it all up" and hope that opera don't go updating without my permission on me again.

I hate updated things that don't function as well as the so called outdated ones. It's like upgrading from xp to vista.

Unless Opera installed to a different folder, it shouldn't forget passwords - and if it did install to a different folder, then the old version is still there somewhere.

I use Opera 10.63 and you can turn off Auto-update via Preferences.

Thank you, pvb48. When Opera auto-updated to 11.60, some glitch in the new star menu prevented any and all web pages from opening properly. After two days of pulling out what little remains of my hair, I used system restore to go back three days. Now everything is OK again. Thanks to your help in disabling auto update, I'll be able to lock out the star menu till the darn thing gets fixed.
