Welcome to the My Opera community!
Opera doesn't have any functions that can automatically mark something as trash, so something must just be screwed up.
IIRC, a few others have had this problem in the past. I don't remember if there was a way to fix it short of doing <http://operawiki.info/ImportFromBadMailFolder>.
Do the messages in "All Messages/Trash" have bodies?
You can try running a database consistency check to see if it helps. Just backup your mail folder first (in this case, normally you shouldn't have to when doing the check, but do so anyway just in case).
See some general things you can do at <http://my.opera.com/operawiki/forums/topic.dml?id=1133152> (might want to skip the ones that aren't relevant to your situation).
Did Opera or your computer crash recently? Did your anti-virus update itself recently. Firewall update itself recently? Did you recently upgrade Opera?
