Latest Opera version is seriously annoying me - Shift key shortcuts

How can I disable every single new shortcut that has been added to the shift key like shift - space = bookmarks and new tab opens, shift - enter = something like a page reset and any post information I am making deleted?

These shift key shortcuts have completely ruined my ability to type online, they are terrible.

From the menu bar or the O menu, go to Settings > Preferences...

On the window that appears, go to the Advanced tab, pick "Shortcuts" in the list at the left, under "Keyboard setup" highlight "Opera standard" (or the Opera 9.2 compatible, depends on the version you're using) and click on "Duplicate".

Highlight the new created setup and click on "Edit", type 'shift' (no quotes) in the box and look for the shortcuts that are annoying you, double-click over their command (or Actions) and just delete it (leave it blank).

EDIT:

I'm using the standard setup here from version 11.52 and "shift + space" works like "Page up" and "shift + enter" does nothing, so if by latest you mean Opera Next, then maybe my instructions may not work.

I've tried that, and now Shift Space doesnt open up a new bookmarks tab all the time, but it does still do it infrequently like every 8-10 presses.

So when I'm typing I still have the bookmarks tab popping up sometimes :X

Is it possible to simply roll back to the previous version of opera?

Well, yes. The standard setup is pulled from the "ui" folder inside the Opera installation folder. Trying to reinstall the same version you got now or rolling back to an older would replace these files and possibly fix your problems.

Or

Opera is pulling the setup from the "keyboard" folder inside your profile (any modified setup will be stored there).

Check "Paths" here: opera:about
Quit Opera, go to the location it pointed there and: rename the profile folder (something simple, like, just add a - sign at the start or end) or move the contents of the "keyboard" folder to a temporary location.

Start Opera and test the shortcuts. If the behavior is still the same, then I'm at loss here. Like I said, I'm using the standard setup and really can't replicate any of your problems.

Some shortcuts appear several times in the setup file, to cover varying contexts. Likely you only edited out one of them ...
