If a program has been running correctly (in this case, Opera) but suddenly triggers this error, it usually means something has become corrupted in the program. If the error only shows up once and never repeats, it may denote some kind of transient memory glitch. If the error repeats or reoccurs, then it generally means there is corruption of the stored program code on disk... which means the program (0pera) would need to be re-installed.
Opera 12.14u (1738), 11.52 (1100) & 10.63 (3576) running on various Windows systems from Win7-64 down through KernelEx4-modified Win98FE (proof that reports of Win98's demise are greatly exaggerated).
If you first backup your personal files (bookmarks, notes, etc) to a safe folder outside of Opera, you can always copy them back over to the new installation later and preserve their contents. However, if one or more of them is involved in the corruption, then the corruption effects might reappear as soon as the damaged file was copied over... which is why it is wise to copy them over one-at-a-time, using/testing Opera thoroughly in between to make sure the just-copied file isn't at fault. Look for the file locations/names using Menu > Help > About Opera: Paths.
In your case, because your error message faulted opera.exe, there is a good chance that file is the corrupted one, so your saved personal files all can probably be safely copied back over after the new installation.
