Google Advanced Search Links Not Working
I am seeing an annoying problem with Google Advanced Search, which I suspect started when they introduced that pop-up image of the web page on the right hand side when you hover over a link.It seems to work fine when you follow the first link, but when I go back to the Google Search page, further links on the page will not work unless and until I refresh the page.
They will open in a new tab, but not in the existing tab.
When you hover over them the cursor changes as expected, but clicking on them does nothing.
Anyone else confirm this?
It's very annoying!
Works perfectly in IE needless to say.......

Hello Dave,
Worked okay for me. I entered "opera browser" into the search. The results page has a right pointing arrow when hovering over the area of each link. Moving the cursor to the arrow will bring up the pop-up image. Clicking on the pop-up image opened in the current tab. I then went back to the search results and tried a couple of the other results. All worked without needing a refresh.
btw, I tried this with 11.52 Linux build.

Hello dave,
I recognize that, see my post. Only difference is on my setup it affected also the normal result pages. My settings so far are:
history mode navigation: 3
google site preferences: mask as Firefox
google search settings: disable google instant
Probably if instant is enabled you wouldn't need masking, if history navigation be set to 1 or 2 you wouldn't need any other settings at all.
Still can't figure out what makes a cached google page behave so differently.

Thanks guys!
Yes sorry, hovering over the links brings up the arrow at the right of the entry, and hovering on the arrow previews the page, which is not quite what I said in my OP!
I tried identifying as IE, and the results page looked completely different (much smaller text mainly), and the preview function didn't work at all, no arrows on the right of the entries when hovering over the links!
The links did work correctly when going back to the page though.
I then tried masking as IE, and everything came good.
The page looks normal and the preview facility works, and on going back the links still work.
Glad it was that simple, and I should have tried that in the first place of course!
As it's such a commonly used site I think that a bit of browser.js tweaking should be done by Opera if possible so it does still work when identifying as Opera though.
Thanks again.
Dave.
