Scroll Bar Is Almost Invisible

Windows XP SP3, Opera 11.52

I raised this matter years ago, seemed to get better, but now we’re back to it.

Though my scroll bar is as a rule reasonably visible, for some sites it can become almost indistinguishable. This is one example of what I see:

What is this due to but more important how can it be solved once and for all? Can’t the developers give the scroll bar more color and contrast and leave it there?

In the meantime, is there a simple way I can improve matters?
If it's not in the computer, it doesn't exist.

Try Preferences, Content, Style Options... Disable styling of scroll bars. If your problem only occurs on some sites, that might be where the problem lies. A link is always helpful when reporting site-related problems.

There is certainly no such problem on this site — the scroll bar is very clear with the standard skin and with my preferred skin.

Thanks Pesala, though not perfect, it has certainly improved and is visible now:

I just hope the problem doesn’t shift to other sites that had no problem before, but I tried a dozen and they seem OK. So I’m happy for now. smile

It would be of no use to give a URL of the site involved, as it is only accessible to members.

Cheers from Rossini.
