Cannot retrieve bookmarks from opera 11.51
So all I want are my bookmarks from Opera 11.51, but I cannot seem to open/run Opera 11.51 web browser so my brother said that if I uninstalled it and then re-installed it all my bookmarks would still be there. He even demonstrated on his laptop with his Opera, I thought it would work so I did it and this came up [Error during execution. " "C:/Users/current user/AppData/Local/Temp/7ZipSfx.000/Opera.exe" /install." Access is denied]And I've already checked out a lot of forums etc but nothing is helping me..
I even tried to import my bookmarks using Firefox but the only thing that I can import from Opera is Preferences.. like that's the only option.
Someone please help, I just want my bookmarks back

Use your operating system's search function and locate the bookmarks.adr file, that is the file where Opera keeps your bookmarks. Find that, copy it, delete the old Opera installation(s) completely (manually delete the folders) after running the uninstaller. Download and install Opera again and replace the new bookmarks.adr file with your old bookmarks.adr
Also, "C:/Users/current user/AppData/Local/Temp/7ZipSfx.000/Opera.exe" how/why did you install your Opera on Temp folder, that not the right place.

I've done all that and I'm installing an older version of Opera.. since 11.52 isn't working for me, and how do I replace it with the old one?
and I don't know why it's in Temp. where should it be? Or should it have it's own folder named Opera under Local? and how to change the placement of it?

ok so while installing Opera 10.52, this came up: Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action:SetDefaultBrowser, location... /opera.exe,comm....
oh gosh
oh gosh
Are you attempting to install Opera to a 'limited' user account or to an account that does not have permission access to any/all of the folder locations to which you or the installer is attempting to place it?
Opera 12.14u (1738), 11.52 (1100) & 10.63 (3576) running on various Windows systems from Win7-64 down through KernelEx4-modified Win98FE (proof that reports of Win98's demise are greatly exaggerated).
Something seems bizarre with your system/OS or what you're doing.
1) First, you had problems opening/running Opera 11.51, which had apparently worked previously (you were able to create bookmarks) but somehow failed at some point.
2) Next, (hoping to preserve your bookmarks), you uninstalled it and re-installed it.
3) Then, upon attempting to run the re-installed Opera, you received a peculiar error message implicating opera.exe but referencing a location within a 7Zip folder in your currentuser account's Temp folder. I can think of no reason for Opera to install into or even involve itself with 7Zip's local Temp sub-folder, unless perhaps you are attempting to re-install from some kind of compressed Opera file... Opera's normal downloads are ordinary installation executable files (*.exe files), and it's default installation folders certainly have nothing to do with 7Zip.
4) Next, in attempting to install Opera 10.52, you received an Error 1721 message, which usually implies something is messed up or missing within the vendor (Opera) installer package you're attempting to use. Opera's installation packages are complete in themselves and time-proven by millions of users to date.
This leads to several questions:
a) Is the above an accurate reconstruction of what occurred?
b) What problem occurred initially with Opera 11.51 that led you to need to reinstall it?
c) Do you have 7Zip installed on your computer, and does it work correctly at present?
d) Where (what site) did you get your files for reinstalling Opera 11.51 and Opera 10.52, and are they *.exe files?

Ok so about a week ago [Halloween-ish] I downloaded Opera 10.52 and said it wasn't working right?
Well I don't know how or why but two days ago while I was on Firefox I clicked Opera just for fun to see if it would open and it did... (Y) And the whole day yesterday, for 6+ hours my laptop was on a scan so it got rid of some malicious programs on my laptop but still having some things to quarantine.
I'm really happy that's its working again and don't wanna question the fact why it is... yeahh and everything is still here, bookmarks and etc.
If a problem comes up again I'll be back here haha, but thanks for everyone who gave me advice and helped with my problem
yeah my laptop works in strange ways..
