export bookmarks with opera mobile?

I want to export them from my Droid Eris, then sync them with this new bookmark syncing feature whatever it's called since it doesn't seem to know how to read my previously added bookmarks, then import them to my new phone. Is this possible. I don't want to have to manually do it obviously. Thanks

If your network supports it, just enable sync. Your bookmarks will then be saved in your account here (see the option under your account here), and when you enable sync on the new phone they will be automatically imported. That's how I got all my desktop bookmarks on my tablet ...

You can synchronize bookmarks between devices using Opera Link. Go to Settings and turn Opera Link on (use your My Opera account as Link credentials).

opera link is crap. so many people have reported problems with this feature. opera just seems unwilling to support it. if you can't export your bookmarks and you can't login to operalink you can't sync your bookmarks. developers either fix opera link, or enable import export bookmarks.

You can NOT export Opera Bookmarks from Opera Mobile.

E.g. you are linked and deleted all you bookmarks on your Mac, but they are still on your Opera Mobile. To my knowledge there is no way of exporting these bookmarks out of your Android. Either you keep them on your Android staying un-synced (you disable the link) and you can keep the bookmarks on your mobile, OR you can try to create a new user so you can link the old bookmarks to a new account, but you will then get a warning telling all bookmarks will be deleted.

So "link" is not exporting or backup.

Make sure you have opera link activated in the settings in your phone's browser and keep this fact in mind that opera so conveniently decided not to inform anyone: it syncs your bookmarks but places them in different folders depending on which opera browser they're coming from so your PC opera bookmarks and Android phone bookmarks will be in different folders, actually one will reside in the other. Not sure off hand which in which.

Creating a new Opera Link account will surely help you. First disable old, re-enable, create a new account and let it sychronize. After synchronizing, login from your PC in your new Opera Link account and let it import bookmarks and speed-dials.

Good luck smile

When creating a new account, it gives me the warning "another opera user has synchronized his data with this device. If you continue, all existing bookmarks will be erased from the device".
Is this only a warning or it could really happen? I don't like to loose these remaining bookmarks too.sad
What should I do?

Hi. It's mvthakar.

You may be wondering that I'm not mvthakar. But my account is banned by a mistake. I've requested to restore my account.

Now return to the topic:

It should work. It worked on mine. Have you created a backup? I've already told you to do so.

of course you said, but as my phone isn't rooted i wasn't able to backup the data. I risked and did the job without backup and unfortunately lost them.

I have been evaluating Opera Mobile for the last few days and the lack of bookmark support is the final straw which has made me decide not to use it. Developers like this should be boycotted. That is the best encouragement you can give them. Sticking with Opera Mobile strikes me as being similar to sticking to an iPhone, in as much as you want it to be good but it's just not, so leave it. There really are better browsers out there anyway.

Regards,
Jacko
