Opera Mini keeps repopulate the search list with Amazon and eBay search providers

Even though I have already deleted these search providers, Opera Mini keeps readding them to the list after every reboot of the browser.

Open app, click connection test, wait 5min, delete extra engines and keep it up on that session. At next startup these engines shouldn't be there, presumable default engines are synced too in the base of the same account bug

I have forced sync by typing in opera:Sync but there search engine still appears. Can you test? Opera Mini 6.5. Sony Ericsson K800i.

6.5 with k800i also, connection set on http/socket - deleted search engine from second acount (user 'dirgas') which was remaining there for some reason, push opera:sync (otherwise mini server doesn't respond) and checking again doesn't result such a behavior. Opening mini5 and mini6 in background any modification is operated on both apps in both ways. So if sync link is not bugged try app reinstallation.

I have same problem. Clean install, no search engines except Google, cookies disabled, opera sync never used, socket connection, no bookmarks, installed 5 minutes ago. But still all 3 default search engines are getting added again.

yeah, forgot to uninstall the previous 6.1 and now after reinstallation there is no way to delete preset engines. Anyway only wikipedia is added for my native language.

I see this bug on OM 6.5 on Blackberry Torch (9800 model) too, but I can't reproduce it. It seems to happen randomly.

Has anyone filed a bug report? -> mini.bugs.opera.com

If anyone does, post your assigned report number back in this thread.

at least on j2me platform this bug is confirmed and depends on current build release so can be fixed in next 6.5v. If some concurrent problems are reported (perhaps related with sync link) next 6.5 'silent' release can follow shortly, however is not a big case here.

Reported and yes it is related to Opera Link as the syncing brought back the search engine upon restart. When I load Opera Mini without connecting to the web the two deleted search engine remains deleted. As soon as I connect and Opera Link kicks in, they return.

I have it disabled, so it's not related to sync. Everytime mini connects to network after restart, Dictionary.com, IMDb and Wikipedia search engines are back.

Re-reported with new findings that the bug does not depend on Opera Link.

Also the default search engine (which can't be deleted) got changed from google to yandex. How can I get it back to google and keep it there?

I can confirm this as well. Opera Mini 6.5 on Nokia E51 (S60v3). I installed it over 6.1, someone said that there shouldn't be any issues after doing that. I only want to have Google, Wikipedia and one other search I added myself, but Amazon, Dictionary.com, eBay and IMDb keep reappearing by themselves, seemingly on almost every new launch after deleting them. If this isn't a bug, but a way to intentionally push advertisement, then, Opera Software, I am not happy at all. zip
