Add an account: gmail - fail :\

Hey.
I'm new to Opera mail and I'm assuming mail.opera.com is new too. So we both are smile
Anyway - I'm trying to add my gmail account in preferences, to be able to slowly migrate out of there.
It doesn't work...
1. Fetching account details...
2. Verifying details...
3. Eeeerrrror "It didn't work. check you mail / pass". I'm dead sure both of them are OK.
Any workaround? Are you aware of this guys?

Hi there,

Firstly I'm glad you've decided to give My Opera Mail a go - that's great smile

Secondly, have you checked in your gmail settings that POP is enabled? This could be the reason you're seeing the error.
In your gmail settings, go to "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" and double check that POP is enabled.

It's working for me here just fine. Let me know if the above doesn't solve your problem, and we'll try and help as best we can.

Hey.
Thanks for answering. Indeed it started to work after enabling POP. I had IMAP on only.
I figured it out after digging in help pages of Opera Mail, but maybe it could be useful to have POP reminder in the error message.

As a side note - from time to time, I'm getting errors that "message #xxx could not be retrieved". Nothing big, happens randomly, most of mails are flowing in, still it's there. I can post more details if I see it once more.

Great that it's working for you. smile Where abouts do you see the retrieval error messages? Are they emailed to you? Is this for messages from your gmail account only, or do you see it for other accounts?
