Opera 10.63 on Win XP3 problems
I run Opera 10.63 on an old Win XP3 machine set up with an Administrator and a User account. I normally operate via the User account. I have two current problems.1. Recently a problem came up with the BBC site. I can't play anything via the BBC embedded player, eg BBC News. No problem with anything on BBC iPlayer. Opera works on YouTube videos. Just with BBC embedded videos, they don't download any data.
It's stranger than that, I can play BBC embedded videos perfectly using Opera 10.63, but only if I do so from the Administrators account or run Opera using runas Administrator in the Users account. The obvious answer, that settings are different in the Admin Opera and the User Opera, can't be true as I have just (for another problem using Facebook) completely removed Opera and ALL settings and preferences from my PC and then reinstalled. The problem is exactly the same even though at this point both Admin and User settings are identical.
2. This is very recent and alarming. I have an online savings account with the UK Post Office: http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po
Access to savings should be through the Finance/Savings link, but when I now click on this in Opera (not so in FF) I get redirected to this:
http://mobiletestingurl98.postoffice.co.uk/
I don't even understand what this is. This means I have lost access to my savings account via Opera.
I should emphasise that the clean reinstall has made no difference whatsoever to either of the above problems.
To add to the above: in the case of problem 1, can only play BBC embedded videos if logged on as administrator, I have the same problem with Firefox 7.01 on my PC, but not with IE8.
Following the clean reinstall of Opera 10.63 I now find I can't get the current version (but it's the same version!) to look like the previous Opera 10.63. It just looks different. e.g. the tabs are less rounded, more square and the 'blue dot' has disappeared. It looks more like FF! This is very strange as my clean install was from a copy of the very same installation file on my PC as the original Opera 10.63.
Can anyone explain this?

OK I can explain that at least! Sorry, I've switched back to Opera Standard Skin and the 'proper' tabs etc. have been restored. Looks like it should now. That just leaves problems 1 & 2 to solve.
I seem to be the only person posting here!
The latest. As of yesterday BBC embedded videos are working again. Good! But why? I've no idea, they started working again just as mysteriously as they originally stopped working. Have I updated Opera? No, at least not as far as I am concerned. Have I updated Flash? No. Has the BBC done something? I don't know. Am I still using Opera 10.63 in XP Update 3 from my User account? Yes. (Umm, I wonder what the situation is with FF?)
So the problem has at least 'gone away' for now, I can hardly say it has been 'solved'. Oh for the days when you could understand what was happening on your PC...

The trouble is, in those days, we could not watch video on our PCs.
I recommend keeping Opera up to date. In spite of all the new bugs, many old bugs and security issues were fixed. Opera 10.63 is really too old now. I am also still using Windows XP (until I have to get a new computer).

Hi,
I would like to play radio on this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_radio_one
but the "play" button is not displayed and of course the streaming doesn't seem to work.
Is it working for you?

Doesn't work on 11.52, but it does on 11.61(the latest). I know it's sad, but updating is the best way to have good compatibility with the new technology on websites.
MAIN PC: 12.16 -> i7-2600k, 16GB RAM, Win 7 x64
HTPC: 15.0.1147.153 -> A10-6700, 8GB RAM, win 7 x64
I just keep getting more depressed every time I update opera. Very old bugs not fixed, easy fix not made(talking about no option to disable image resize here), new "features" even more annoying than the last ones implemented and often poor compatibility with a lot of website.
