Allowing extensions to communicate with Growl for desktop notifications
Hello,This is a Feature request for future versions of Opera for Mac.
Currently Opera (v11.52) has Growl notifications for its built-in messages (like RSS Feed alerts, new emails, downloads, etc.).
But Opera doesn't allow extensions to communicate with Growl for desktop notifications.
I'd like to suggest that this feature be added so that it is possible for extensions to interact with Growl, so that we can get Desktop Notifications.

You’ll have to patiently wait for Web notifications API to stabilize before this would be considered. Then you probably would not need something Growl/Mac-specific either.

Any ideas when should I expect "Web notifications API" to stabilize ?
Just a simple question : If Opera allows its in-built features to give notifications through Growl, is there a problem if extensions are also allowed to interact with Growl too ?
I am asking because I have an extension from a website which I browse daily. The website has an extension for alerts for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera and all browsers give desktop notifications except Opera.
