do you have a local quote?

well its obvious that different societies have a quote or saying that is common among them. For example: down here in calabar, Nigeria we have a saying: 'once a politican always a thief' what is the common saying or quote where you are from? I'd really appreciate one from Detroit, w'd kinda help in the book (novel) i'm currently writting.

I was born and raised in Detroit. How about "If it wasn't made in Detroit, it ain't a car!"?

You can quote me on that.

I'm not sure how local these are, but:

"He's useless as tits on a male(boar) hog." - that seems self explanatory.

A response for, "How are you?", is... "I'm hangin' in there like a hair in a biscuit." -lol

And, "He couldn't even pour water out a boot if the instructions were written on the bottom."- someone low on common sense.

In Chicago, Halloween comes twice each election year. Once on October 31, then a week or so later on Election Day when the dead vote-- Democratic, of course.

"The dead are rising and they all vote republican!" ( or democrats, depending on whatever the local oligarchy prefers )
