[1116]( & Opera 11.x) Opera menu doesn't work when displaying "blank page" & dload/run dialog
Happened in 11.51 and 12 [1116]1. Click on any link to a file to start to download it in Opera. Link
2. Wait for the new, blank tab to open
3. When the blank tab with the download / run dialog is visible, open the Opera menu from top left and click for example on -> Help -> About Opera
Result:
Nothing happens.
The Opera menu looks like it's working but most of the actions you do in it don't do anything.
Expected:
Should open the about page in a new page. Or maybe the Opera menu should be grayed out if it's not meant to work because there's a modal dload dialog visible in the current tab.
Not sure why you would want to go to the Help/About Opera dialog while a download/file dialog window is opened ?.
So the behaviour you describe is the behaviour "I" would be expecting.

Opera 12.14 - 1738 (Portable 32bit) on Win8 Pro, Or portable versions of Linux Mint 14 or Puppy Linux Upup Raring - 3.9.8.1

Because i started to download the file and saw the version of the file in its name. Then i wanted to check if i actually already had that version of Opera.
I know this is not the most critical bug. Just something i noticed
But on a forum where you're supposed to discuss about Beta testing, "why would the user want to press that button?" is the wrong question to even ask.
And as i mentioned, most of the other options in Opera menu don't work too, and you get no indication that they are not supposed to be responsive or why they aren't. I would never expect a behavior from any UI, where clicking on an element causes an action in some situation, but in some other situation the element that looks exactly the same and graphically reacts to user input exactly the same, doesn't perform the same action.
For example Windows programs make a graphical flash effect on a modal popup that's preventing you from accessing controls in the parent window, so you'll know what to close in order to continue. They also don't usually let you open menus etc. in which you couldn't perform any actions in due to the current state of the application.
P.S. Just noticed that even Ctrl+t for opening a new tab doesn't work in that state. (I might want to look up that filename in a new tab to check what it is, in case someone is again wondering "why would i wanna to do that?")
P.P.S. Sorry for sounding so pissed off... it's been a long day
