All Messages in Received Disappeared

All my "Received" emails disappeared from the list. This happened when I in the Received did something accidentally:

1. Ctrl-A to select all messages
2. Hit Delete
3. Then I realized the mistake, I did Ctrl-Z to undo

Then Opera crashed. After bring up Opera, I got into this problem.

The strange thing is:

1. my omailbase.dat is 53.6MB

2. at the top of Mail Pannel, it says Received (6 unread, 4702 total), but yet I can only see the the 6 unread emails, i.e., the newly received.

3. My Sent folder is fine, "Trash" and "Drafts" folders are fine too, with all messages listed and showing. Only the the "Received" is emptied out, except displaying the most recently received ones.

I've tried to set the default Mail Database Consistency Check Time to '0', and restart, as suggested by others, but it doesn't make any difference.

I'm currently using Thunderbird, but still attempting to recover (see) the earlier Received ~4.7k emails and come back to Opera.

Any help appreciated!!!

If the messages are in "All Messages/Trash", you should be able to select them all and click "undelete". That should make them show in "All Messages/Received" again as long as something with the indexer isn't messed up. But, open up "All Messages/Received" and click the view button on the mail toolbar above the message list, goto "show" and make sure "show read" is checked. But, temporarily check "show trash" to see if they appear.

Is this with POP or IMAP? If the former, are all the messages still on the server or do they only exist in Opera?

Thanks for your suggestion.

They are not in Trash folder, and I can't "Undelete" them

I have the All Messages -> Received -> View -> Show Read

checked and they are not there.

If the indexer is messed up, is there a way to re-create it from the omailbase.dat.

Any help in re-creating the indexer is greatly appreciated.

No.

If this is with IMAP, you just delete the account and add it back in. If you have POP accounts, you need to do <http://operawiki.info/ImportFromBadMailFolder>.
