Not Able to Manipulate Bookmarks

Of late I have experienced a problem. I'm not sure which upgrade saw the problem begin. Using 11.52 now. I've been putting off documenting it for one reason or another ... Nevertheless the problems concerns bookmarks.

I cannot consistently CUT bookmarks from within the bookmarks panel by either Ctr+X or Right Clicking and choosing CUT (bookmark remains in place).

I cannot consistently DELETE bookmarks in the panel by either highlighting the bookmark and hitting "Delete' key or Right Click and choose 'Delete' (bookmark remains in place).

I can COPY a bookmark and PASTE it reliably into a new folder. I can CUT a bookmark and PASTE it reliably into a new folder but the bookmark is not removed from the CUT location.

Behavior is same when I switch to work from within the Manage Bookmarks window.

Now, the weird thing is that SOMETIMES CUT or DELETE will work. Probably about 20% of the attempts. Sometimes if I can drag a bookmark around within the tree and drop it in a new spot the entire upper portion of the split bookmarks window seems to redraw itself and then I can CUT or DELETE. But if no redraw, then no success.

Have I damaged the bookmarks file somehow? Can I repair it? Do I have too many bookmarks? Or is the problem with the program?

Something is not right and I sure hope to find a solution so I can reliably manipulate bookmarks again. I surely appreciate any comments. Thanks.

Are you using "Sort by my order" or "Sort Alphabetically?"

Hi Pesala. I am using "Split View", "Sort by Name" and "Sort Ascending". It doesn't seem to matter whether I use "Sort by Name" and "Sort Ascending".
