another serious render issue

okay, first the good.Opera mobile is seriously fast and smooth on my Asus Transformer.

However, the browser has some serious flaws. First, many websites won't render correctly, and some not at all. For example, the tech site www.theverge.com won't display anything. Facebook also won't let you make a post. The post will look like it has been posted, but upon refresh will not be there. This confirmed across two seperate tablets.

Second, something is wrong with the font display. any word with an apostrophe has too much space between the apostrophe and the last letter. Way too much space. Granted, I am using robotics ICS font....maybe that is it.

Third, the browser still randomly crashes...

There are more...but I can't remember them at the moment.

This browser absolutely has the potential to dominate by far. But some of the glitches are show stoppers.

please address these concerns...or at least give me some pointers to lessen the impact that they have.

BTW, I have Turbo off.

tech support responded and fixed my issue. I tried everything to clear the problem up, to no avail.

It was a user string for ie 6 that did it...Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)

I put this user agent string in there hoping to fix the posting problems on Facebook. Not only did it fail to fix Facebook, it causes certain other sites to fail to load.

Anyway' back to great Opera browsing (minus Facebook which is flaky in most android browsers anyway) .

Thanks for the quick reply tech...you guys rock!

I have just tried THE VERGE site on my Nexus S, and it is automatically redirected to its mobile site, and displays correctly. My problem is with the page rendering on Google search page and the search option for customizing results are unavailable.
