Blank tab opens with popup

When clicking TV program link on www.uknetguide.co.uk, new blank tab opens in addition to popup with TV program details. Focus moves to new tab.
Any cause or remedy, please? Reuse tab is deselected (by choice), open new tab next to active is selected.
