Voice download failed
With Opera 11.52 on Windows XP, when I go to Tools > preferences > advanced > voice, and check the box labeled "enable voice controlled browsing," I get a message offering to "download extensions" and when I give that the OK, I get a message saying "download failed." Yes my internet connection is good and I get no such problem with Opera 9.6. Although sometimes with 11.52 I get no message at all when checking the box, the checkmark goes into the checkbox and stays there, at least for a few minutes, yet is obvious that the voice files have not been downloaded and voice button on toolbar is grayed out, even though the "enable voice controlled browsing" box remains checked.I also noticed that if I go to tools > quick preferences and check the "enable sound in web page" checkbox, I get an offer to download the voice files. But when I confirm I want to do that, I have the same problem: download failed. Same if I click any of the voice buttons on the toolbar.
anyone know what's going on here? I have Opera version 9.6 installed in a separate c:\program files folder and I have no problem downloading the voice files for version 9.6.

in opera:config, there is an entry labeled "VoiceXmlPlugin". There is a choose button, and a box with a filename in it. "C:\Documents and Settings\[me]\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera\Opera11\voice\vxmplugin.dll" This is not referring to an actual file. I don't have a "voice" folder there, either, or a vxmplugin.dll file anywhere, except for 1 for opera 9.6, in my opera 9.6 program files folder.

If you can't see your user folder, you must enable it from windows folder options.

I just copied Opera Next voice folder to my 11.61 folder ( c:\Users\MYUSERFOLDER\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\ ) and it worked. You can do it either by downloading opera next and voice package and then copying it to your 11.61 folder or you can download it from here:

Can you upload it again, to your opera files, since all the download links are expired.
