Mobile Opera controlling focus style.
I am developing a web application for touchscreen devices and am hoping to be able to override the default style that is applied to elements in Opera Mobile that are currently being touched. My approach works to add a custom style to items are being touched (basically adding a "touched" class name to the element when a touchstart event is fired), but I can't get rid of the default overlay and outline that is drawn on the element. I have tried the following, but neither seem to make a difference:a:focus
{
outline: none
}
*:focus
{
outline: none
}
On the following pages the approaches to visually hiding focus fail as well:

Webkit exposes a custom CSS attribute "-webkit-tap-highlight-color" and I am wondering if Opera has something similar.
I'd be glad too if someone can answer this.
I tried the following declarations in Opera Mobile 11.5:
neither works.
I tried the following declarations in Opera Mobile 11.5:
-o-tap-highlight-color tap-highlight-color
neither works.
